Give Wings to Happiness

There was once a lonely girl who longed desperately for love. One day while she was walking in the woods and she found two starving singing birds.

She took them home and put them in a small glided cage. She nurtured them with love bird-cageand the birds grew stronger. Every morning they greeted her with a marvelous song. The girl felt great love for the birds. She wanted their singing to last forever.

One day the girl left the door to the cage open. The larger and stronger of the two birds flew away from the cage.

The girl watched anxiously as he circled high above her. She was so frightened that he would fly away and she would never see him again that as he flew close, she grasped at him wildly. She caught him in her fist. She clutched him tightly within her hand. Her heart gladdened at her success in capturing him. Suddenly she felt the bird go limp. She opened her hand stared in horror at the dead bird.

Her desperate clutching love had killed him.

She noticed the other bird teetering on the edge of the cage. She could feel his great need for freedom. His need to soar into the clear, blue sky. She lifted him from the cage and tossed him softly into the air.

The bird circled Once, Twice. Three times.

The girl watched delighted at the bird’s enjoyment. Her heart was no longer concerned with her loss. She wanted the bird to be happy. Suddenly the bird flew closer and landed softly on her shoulder. It sang the sweetest melody she had ever heard.

The fastest way to lose love is to hold on too tight and the best way to keep love is to give it – WINGS!

“Happiness is like a butterfly; the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder…”

Henry David Thoreau

Similarly, Love and Happiness cannot be felt by taking or snatching. To capture something selfishly, we call it greed which never gives you happiness. These smiles on your faces are temporary which never lasts long.

give-happinessIf you really want to feel the happiness and love, GIVE IT. Share your feelings with your loved ones and feel the true sense of happiness. Happiness is like Knowledge, the more you give and share, the more you receive.

Keep Smiling.. 🙂

“There are five things you need to know.” pencil maker said.

Flip the Coin and be Positive

Every coin has two sides. Flip the coin in the air, it may either turn up head or tails. Depends on luck, doesn’t it? Life has two sides as well. One side reflects Glad and the other, Sad.

Glad and Sad. Happiness and Unhappiness. Smiling lips or Frowning eyes.

Life flips us daily in the air. Unlike the coin, which side it will come we can not say but how to react under such situations, depends on us and not on the luck. We can mold ourselves in these conditions. Situations can be fruitful which leads to a productive day or it can be unfruitful which further leads to acarpous day.

Here, whatever could be the result, situation and how we design them depends on us. Tackling these situations and reacting accordingly are in our hands. Diverting from negative to positive way depends on our mind.

Sure-and-positiveyWe often curse our luck and start believing we are here for no reason and whatever we will start doing or whatever we will indulge into, outcome would be negative.

So this morning, say for example, you thought this above written lines and guess what!

With your start, you have already initiated your journey downwards just like running downhill. The faster you try to run, sooner you will fall down and result?

I will be visiting you in the hospital soon.

Life flips us too. If it is Glad we are happy, smiling and energetic and we will accomplish all heights. On the other hand, if it’s Sad, don’t allow your mind to take you in negative direction. It’s like driving the car on nasty zigzag road. We drive cautiously, patiently and reach our destination safely.

So don’t worry, Flip the coin.thinkpositive

Heads (Glad) – Yes my day is going to be awesome.

Tails (Sad) – Wow my day is going to be incredible.

Say loud in front of the mirror and act like a lion.

Result – Crystal clear. What you think, you become and act accordingly. Positive things will start happening. Simple is that, isn’t it?

Keep Smiling.. 🙂

In Burdens dont seek Pardons

How do you react or mold yourself, when tasks or heavy work is dumped on your shoulders?

Lets go through this simple yet motivational (actually fictional) story about birds and their wings. It may give you some direction. 🙂

There is a fable about the way birds first got their wings. The story goes that initially they were made without them. The God made the wings, set them down before the wingless birds and said to them, “Take up these burdens and carry them.”

The birds had sweet voices for singing and lovely glittering feathers that glistened in the sunshine, but they could not soar in the air. When asked to pick the burdens that lay in their feet, they hesitated at first. Yet soon they obeyed, picked up the wings with their beaks  and set them on their shoulders to carry them. For a short time the load seemed heavy and difficult to bear, but soon, as they continued to carry the burden and to fold the wings over their hearts, the wings quickly grew attached to their little bodies. They quickly discovered how to use them and were lifted by the wings high into the air with gentle pressure.

The weights had become wings.bird

This is a parable for us.

How?

Let see..

We are the wingless birds and our duties and tasks are the wings. God uses to lift us up. He tests us with these tasks. We look at our burdens and heavy loads and try to get rid of it, but if we will carry them and tie them to our hearts, they will become wings. And on them we can then rise and soar toward acme, towards success.

These heavy burdens when lifted cheerfully with love in our hearts, will surely become a blessings to us. God intends for our tasks to be our helpers; to refuse to bend our shoulders to carry a load is to miss the new opportunity  for growth. No matter how overwhelming any burden God has lovingly placed with his own hands on our shoulders is a blessing.

We must never run away from tasks, duties and responsibilities as they make us. Running away from them is not a solution but it is like missing a better opportunity.

No Strife, No Life

Life_Updowns

When we were kids, we enjoyed every moments of our life. When we grew older and entered in teen’s worlds, we got to know a bit about life like a newly born bird comes out of nest and face the dirty world. We started feeling minute level of pressures especially in exams or our so-called-love-life as we indulged ourselves in our love though it was just an infatuation.

As soon as we enter in the world of professionals and corporate we got the real taste of life. When we got married and have family we got to know the word ‘Responsibility’.

Life is not a linear. It’s like stock market graph chart. Rise and falls, ups and downs. stock graphTwists and turns.

When we wake up in the morning we feel fresh and morning dew and fragrance make us rejuvenated. As the day proceed and things keep coming on us, our mood starts fluctuating. Cause of fluctuation may be office work, relationships, family or any external forces. Whatever the reason be, it spontaneously changes our mood and we feel disheartened or happy.

When we talk this at macro level, we call it Life.

life-is-like-a-roller-coaster

Life is like a roller coaster ride. It gives you bumps at every interval.

Rather than taking it as a frightening experience, we must take it as a learning experience. We must enjoy the ride like we enjoy a roller coaster ride.

I love it when I feel pressure. I love it when I pass through bad phase. I love it when some irrelevant weeds crop up in my life.

Because these, teach me lessons. I learn a lot, examine others and try to find out how to react on these circumstances and trust me this is extremely helpful for our future when we may (obviously will) face bigger issues than today. At that time, we can link to those issues with we faced earlier in life which gives us hint for the optimum solution. It gives us energy to handle the pressure. It teaches us to stay calm in these tougher situations and our maturity level increases.

I personally, have seen many matured people who react weirdly when they face tough situations. They start blaming, shouting and sometimes start badmouthing. You must have seen big politicians, celebrities reacting to media. You guessed right, who enjoys the game and who gets trapped, we all know.

I won’t say, they lose their temper after getting bombarded with these bad happenings, rather I would say they get trapped by these situations. Guess what, we keep repeating the mistakes going forward and never learn.

In these tough situations of life or controversies we must never:

  1. Lose temper
  2. Get panic
  3. Get frightened
  4. Speak abruptly and
  5. React

Just stay calm and be silence for the time being.  Take a deep breath, hold it, count 10 and release slowly. Do it for three times and you will get a solution and feel relaxed.

Go to a calm serene place and think twice, thrice before uttering a single word because harsh words can ruin someone’s life and yours for sure.

These are just temporary and will leave but if not handled properly and smartly will give you a deep impact on your life.

“Thank you for life, and all the little ups and downs that make it worth living.”

Travis Barker
