Enhance your Roses, not Thorns

If I ask you to count your strengths then list may cross five or even it may reach ten. Now if I ask about your weaknesses. How many weaknesses do you think, you have? A couple of or say three or at the most five.

We are born with weaknesses as well as strengths. These could be physical or internal. We humans have the tendency to enhance or flaunt our strengths and suppress our weaknesses. But when it comes to others, we may start enhancing theirs weaknesses and suppress strengths. We always look others mistakes and weaknesses like searching thorns in flowers and start criticizing.

Let me tell you one story of a man who planted a small beautiful rose plant in his garden. He used to water it faithfully. One day he examined it closely.

He saw the bud that would soon blossom. Suddenly, small minute thorns caught his eyes.rose-thorn He scanned the plant thoroughly. It had a few small thorns on it. As he touched those small thorns, it jabbed. He amazingly thought, ‘How can any beautiful flower come from a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns?

Saddened by this thought, he stopped watering the plant, and before it was ready to bloom, it weakened and languished.

Just like rose, we humans are born with fragrant flowers and sharp thorns. There are roses and thorns in our soul.

Roses are our talents, strengths like inspiring, optimistic, friendly etc. and our loving heart which pumps fragrant energy and bring confidence in us just like sunflowers get energy from the rays of rising sun.

Thorns are our faults, our weaknesses like fearful, moody, undisciplined, stubborn etc.

These roses and thorns varies from person to person.

Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns i.e. defects. Hence we conclude, nothing good can possibly come from us. And we stop watering the good within us and eventually it dies within us. We never realize our or others potential and start criticizing and complaining. Finally, it gives birth to pessimism.

StrengthsWeaknessIf someone don’t see roses in them then we must scratch and enhance their strengths and water them rather than criticizing.

find strengthOne of the greatest gifts a person can possess is to be able to reach past the thorns and find the roses within others.

This is the characteristic of Love, to look at a person, and knowing his faults, recognize the nobility in his soul and help him realize that he can overcome his faults. If we show him the rose, he will conquer the thorns. We call it building confidence.

Our duty is to enhance roses in others, not thorns. Only then we can achieve the love we should feel for each other; only then can we bloom in our own garden.

Which category you come into?

People say, this world is full of millions of people with their mixed emotions. If I will ask you to categorize the types of people according to their emotions and the way they behave, how many categories will you draw?

Hundreds? Or thousands? Putting population in mind, may be billions.

If you will ask me to categorize into different categories, I will divide them in to just TWO categories. (Obviously I may be wrong as it depends on person to person.)

CategoryLets see.

According to me, there are 2 types of Person in this world….

  1. One who listens, other who speaks.
  2. One who understand and learn the Life lessons at right time, others whom Life teaches the lesson.
  3. One who learn from others Smartness, others who behave themselves as Smart.
  4. One who learn from others Mistakes, other who learn from their own Mistakes.
  5. One who enhances Satisfaction, others who enhances Frustration.
  6. One who don’t react to Critics and their Criticisms, others who overreact.
  7. One who controls Anger, others who get controlled by anger.
  8. One who Smile in every situations, others whose smile depends on their moods.
  9. One who enhances Positivity, others who suppress Positivity.
  10. One who accepts own Mistakes, others who Blame.

Finally, I can draw two categories, one I call it Mature-Optimist and other I call it Immature-Pessimist.

Which category you come into?

Keep Smiling.. 🙂

Smile has Greatest Wavelength

Smile

A Smiling face reflects Happiness, Energy, and Purity of a person. It not only refreshes the people across the one Smiling, but also exhilarates the atmosphere.

The wavelength of Smile is highest just like color Red. It can be seen from miles.

The impact of Smile is deepest like a Nuclear Bomb, it is extensive.

A beautiful Smile penetrates inside the veins of other person, travels across the nervous system and directly hits the brain which gets stimulated and renovates the mood. Rejuvenate the entire system. Enlightens the face.

One day I wasn’t feeling good so had to visit doctor. I took a prior appointment and reached at scheduled time. Receptionist looked me with her frown eyes like I have just murdered someone and trying to escape from prison.

I greeted her with a Smile.

She looked at me with her eyes angling by 45 degrees and suspiciously replied pointing towards the couch, “Sit down there, you are in queue.” Again it seemed like I just robbed someone and trying to negotiate my penalty.

I sat down on the couch. My eyes scanned the room. It was pin drop silence. Patients were waiting patiently.

Not a single person was talking neither smiling. No whispering sound. Nothing. Pure pin drop silence.

It’s like I have come to attend a cremation. I wanted to get in as soon as possible. I could feel Negative vibrations in that lifeless room.

Suddenly, I heard a toddler’s giggling sound from behind.

A small cute kid came with her mother. She sat and got settled herself. Kid was started clapping and laughing. Everyone couldn’t resist themselves and started smiling to kid.

Within a couple of minutes, the room got Life. It was like, when first raindrops fall in arid barren land.

Everyone (including receptionist) started talking and smiling. Room started breathing. And all credit goes to kid and his Smile of Fortune.

“A smile is a curve that sets everything straight. “

– Phyllis Diller

This is I call spontaneous impact. And none other than Smile has such characteristics.

“Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.”

Mother Teresa
